I'm guessing this is the end for Bod and the family unless they make one where he is out on his own, it's sad :-( I loved the first volume of this book when I read it from the library so I bought the first and second volumes. ![]() ![]() ![]() A week alone in a carriage with the object of his desires an arm’s length away? Swift goes to great lengths to support his argument, including a list of possible preparation styles for the children, and calculations showing the financial benefits of his suggestion. In English writing, the phrase "a modest proposal" is now conventionally an allusion to this style of straight-faced satire.
